Resolution Problem
I have a Optiplex GX260 that ran Windows XP, and I recently updated it to Windows Vista. The screen resolution option is greyed out. I have a SE198WFP monitor. I can't deal with the HUGE icons and windows.

Dell does not support Vista in this model (does not have drivers). Maybe better to use Linux on this older model?

This ancient model from 2002 does not support vista. There are no vista video drivers for this model.

If you are a gamer, you probably have a super powerful video board, but if you are using the onboard intel video, try to get into the settings. I was able to set "custom resolutions". Good luck.
-After I did this, even windows picked up on it, and started showing the new resolutions I created in the windows display settings. But this was win 10, so I don't know if XP would work the same. Maybe worth a try. At worst, you'd just have to use the intel driver if you need to change the resolution again. I don't know much about games though, so you might have different needs.
