Service code unknown, 1-2-4 with amber button

Question

Hello again, Same computer with a new motherboard and beefier PSU. After installing everything I have good news and bad news. Good news, the motherboard works! Bad news, I have a confusing error code.  The PC turns on and remains on and I get a code light of 1-2-4.  I've swapped CMOS batteries, tried a different hard drive and don't have a physical gpu installed. I've seen the post with the exact same issue, model and the suggested things don't work.  please help, this computer has driven me insane

That code indicates no CPU. Are you sure a CPU is installed on the new MB and that the CPU socket is not damaged. Otherwise it could mean a defective CPU.
