TPM 2.0 Support for Dell Optiplex 3020?
Hello, I am trying to verify that my 2 Dell PCs (The Inspiron 17 5767 and Optiplex 3020) are compatible for Windows 11. I am trying to figure out if my Dell Optiplex 3020 supports TPM 2.0. The Firmware Update Utility says that I have a TPM 2.0 update. Is this right and does my computer support TPM 2.0? My BIOS Revision for my system in A20.

How to Flash TPM Firmware and Change TPM Modes
TPM 1.2 and 2.0 modes can be changed, only by the use of firmware that is downloaded from the Dell Drivers & Downloads website. This is feature is supported by select Dell computers. You can use the table in the above section to determine if a computer supports this feature. You can also check the Dell Drivers & Downloads website to verify if the firmware is available for switching between the two modes. If the firmware is not listed, then a computer does not support this feature. In addition, the TPM must be On and Enabled in order to flash the firmware.
Follow these steps to flash the TPM with version 1.2 or 2.0 firmware:
Disable-TpmAutoProvisioning
Enable-TpmAutoProvisioning
TPM.msc
to take ownership of the TPM.The TPM firmware version can be checked using
TPM.msc
or theget-tpm
command in Windows PowerShell (supported in Windows 8 and 10 only). Using get-tpm on Windows 10 1607 and earlier only shows the first 3 characters of the firmware (listed as ManufacturerVersion) (Figure 3). Windows 10 1703 and later shows 20 characters (listed as ManufacturerVersionFull20) (Figure 4).Figure 3: get-tpm command in Windows 10 version 1607 and earlier.

Dell computers that were built between 2015 and 2018 may have shipped from the factory with Trusted Platform Module (TPM) firmware version 1.2.
This article lists the computer models that may have shipped with TPM 1.2 so you can upgrade the TPM firmware to version 2.0 if needed.
Computers that were released after 2019 support TPM firmware 2.0 without an option to downgrade
To confirm that your computer can update to TPM firmware version 2.0:
Go to the Dell product support page.
Enter your Service TAG or select your model number from our product list.
Click the Drivers & Downloads tab.
Select Security from the drop-down category box.
Look for Dell TPM 2.0 Firmware update utility.
If it is listed, it confirms you can run the update.
