Adding PERC H755 Front /H755 Raid controller to Dell R550 Server

This needs to be consulted with part sales.

From what I see, it needs a kit, instead of a simple part, however if a kit doesn’t exist, you may need to look instead the system to find out each part individually- you’ll need to ask if you can get the chassis as well.

The server is still under warranty as it seems, hence I strongly suggest you contacting the vendor/reseller whom you purchased the server from to get the support about the upgrade that you need. We contacted the Dell Support but still we were not able to get the required details

Before we order we want to confirm on the below 

I have gone through the service manual and found that  the  cable required is for connectivity from the PERC 755 FRONT card to slot 18 of the system board connector. System board layout is as below

and the cable required is the one connecting from 

From CTRL_DST_PA1 (Signal connector on the front PERC H755) to SL3_CPU1_PB2 (Signal connector 18  on system board). Cable routing is as below with the H755 FRONT card

I'll try to help. But I need to emphasize that self upgrading the server will lead issues on warranty coverage. My opinion is to obtain/discuss with your Dell sales representative or reseller whom you have purchase the server from. 

 

And about the cable, I found this DPN# HVNP8. This should be the cable as it has labels on the connector stating SL3_CPU1_PB2 and CTRL_DST_PA1. The mechanical tray that you're looking on the URL, has the DPN#, which is 5Y1HD.
