backup exec v8.60 rev 3878 problems

Question

Hi Backup Exec seems to stall intermitently , not on a specific day or using a specific tape media. When it fails the Activity screen sometime shows Active Loading Media but nothing happens except the elapsed time counts until we stop it.   Recently the scheluded jobs have completed 100% success but the elapsed time continues until attended.   the tape drive is archive python 06408-xxxx scsi sequential device and we have used HP & Maxell DDS4 media with the same results.Is the tape drive on the way out or do you think it could be a Backup Exec issueAny help appreciated-thanksPete

Have you checked the Windows System/Application event logs to see if any events (errors) are being recorded? John
