Battery hardware is missing or malfunctioning

Got a new PE2950 and when I boot up I get the following "The battery hardware is missing or malfunctioning, or the battery is unplugged. If you continue to boot the system, the battery-backed cache will not function. Please contact technical support for assistance." The connection to the battery looks tight and good and it is plugged"

Any ideas is there a firmware fix for this?

Cheers

without more information its hard to say what the cause is.... if the system has been sitting in storage for awhile the romb battery could be dead and need replacing.

This is a common issue since the batteries are no charged. Let the system run for a few days and see if the error goes away. The system will run fine, but perhaps a little slower, since there's not enough power to support i/o cache on the perc until the battery has charged. If you have open manage installed, you can check the battery status under the perc controller configuration. It will say something like charging 0%-99% or Done, or missing.

You may also try reseating the battery power cable.

Also, make sure you have the latest firmware for your perc controller.
