I have connected a Monitor, Keyboard & Mouse to each of the 4 nodes.
2 of the 4 nodes power on normally and show the POST messages on screen and I can access the bios no problem.
The other 2 do not display anything on the screen and the POST Led's on the motherboard by the PCI-e riser flicker once and then stay stationary exactly as they do in the video linked above.
The minimal configuration and cleaning the contacts on the sled did not fix the problem for me and make the nodes bootable so I need to access the BMC to view the logs and hopefully find out the problem.
Above you say to access the bios, how do I do this when it will not turn on and display an image on the screen?
Could you try a flea power drain: shut down the node, remove from chassis. Hold in the power button for 20 seconds to drain the power. Reinstall to chassis and test results?

Hello,
Can you remove the sleds and clean the edge connectors where they slot in the front assembly,
The LED in this video should be "BMC Heart Beat LED".
The system board provides BMC heart beat LED (CR24) for BMC debugs.
When BMC firmware is ready, the BMC heart beat LED blinks

My advice would be to min to post. You can try as follows;
On the Node
System Board
CPU
heatsink
1 DIMM Memory
Interposer Extender
On the Chassis
Power Supply
Power Distribution Boards
midplanes
Power Cables to Midplanes
Hope this helps!

Hi,
I have the exact same problem on a couple of nodes.
Did you find a solution please?
I can connect to the BMC but it seems to have been changed from the default username and password
I can not figure out how to reset username and password remotely and it will not post.
I would appreciate your help please.
Thank you.

@DELL-Young E
Hi,
I can not get in to the bios as the node will not POST.
Nothing is displayed on a connected monitor.
I have tried to reset with the jumper on the motherboard (Clear CMOS, Clear Password and system reset)
This has not reset BMC Username and Password.
I need to know how to reset the BMC without Bios access please?

@Dell -Charles R
Hi,
I have just tried that now removing just the one node then all four to be sure.
Unfortunately it did not solve the problem.
The post LED's on the nodes that do not boot switch once and stay fixed
in the position in the picture no matter if you leave it 20 minutes or several hours.

@Ivor_Paul
Just remembered there was a little power button on the back of the nodes.
Made much more sense to press that one for 20 seconds rather than the one on the chassis.
lol.
Repeated the process but still the same results.

Hi,
Any information on how to reset the BMC without Bios Access please?
Also.
Could you tell me what that sequence of 8 LED's mean please ?
And could you tell me what came directly before it and directly after it in the POST process please?
Thank you.

I have the same issue... the POST LED can't turn on...
But the different thing is I just try to reconfigure the FAN speed (cos too loud) via impitool command
impitool -I lanplus -H (hostname) -U root -P (password) raw 0x30 0x30 0x01 0x00
it returns the invalid command but when I try to restart the server it can't start anymore and the POSTs LED at all TURN OFF
Luckily, I can still access the panel via browser but it cannot power on from there (it said restart failure....)
