CD-ROM Not Bootable

Question

Hello, I have a PowerEdge 2400. BIOS is A05 & ALL system checks are good except my CD-ROM. The CD-ROM will not allow me to install software... Can ANYONE tell me why??? Thank you, Inquire_2005

Are you able to view files on a CD that is inserted into the drive ?

Give the drive a good blow-out with a can of compressed air. If this fails to exorcise it you may have to invest in a replacement drive.

I have a similar issue. My CD/DVD drive will read DVDs but NOT CD-roms. Any reason??

hmm..    So it does not boot up any software at all ? Has your secondary Drive been enabled??   Mine was disabled when i got my PE2400 (Ebay)

How do u enable the secondary drive? Sry to ask a basic question like this, but I know nothing about computers.
