Centralized lifecycle controller
Hi,
I am a student currently working for a certain company on a little research project. The object of this project is to create a single point server that checks the firmware updates for other servers. Also some other functions like hardware diagnostics would be usefull. Here is what i need to know:
- What equipment would be needed for this? (currenly I have an R710 (11th gen, DRAC6 express) and 3 x 2950 (9th gen, DRAC5) at my disposal)
- What sort of functions should be possible with systems like this? (os deployment? firmware backups?)

Hello nioman
I would suggest reading up on OpenManage Essentials. It is a remote monitoring and management utility for our servers. It will not be as functional with the 9th generation servers, but you can still monitor and manage them.
