Change iDRAC 9 IP

I setup a fleet of PowerEdge servers, each with iDRAC 9 in all our remote offices.  When I set up the IP, I did them all via "F2" and the Setup Utility through the startup screen.  Recently, we've been required to make a change in the IP of one of these iDRACS.  I'm hoping to do this remotely, so I don't have to take another flight to the office just to do this. When I login into the iDRAC 9, and go to:

iDRAC Settings --> Connectivity --> Network --> IPv4 settings

I do not see the current IP of the iDRAC listed there.  Instead, I see the 'default' IP of the iDRAC of 192.168.0120.  The IP is configured correctly, as I can obviously connect to it, and I also see it properly reflected in the Dashboard AND the iDRAC Settings Overview.

I can't seem to find any information on changing the IP through the GUI.  So Im just trying to make sure that this is where its done, even though it does not reflect the current, actual IP.  Last thing I want to do is lose connectivity to it.

Also, if I am in the right place, will the system require a reboot?  I imagine as soon as I change the IP, I will lose connectivity to it??  Will I be able to immediately reconnect via the new IP?

Thank you.

Hello thanks for choosing Dell and welcome to our community!

What you can do is to install OMSA and change iDRAC IP from OS.

How to Configure iDRAC8 using OpenManage Server Administrator | Dell US

This video will demonstrate how to configure iDRAC8 from within the server OS using OpenManage Sever Administrator.

At least this way you will not lose the iDRAC connection.

idrac8/9 works the same way in OMSA.

Hope this helps, if you have further questions, please send us your service tag by DM.
