Complete Amateur needing help

Hey I was given a PowerEdge T630 server. I want to use it as a 2nd Windows 10 system to run my OBS streaming. I know overkill, but its what I was given.

I have zero understanding of how a server should behave. I cant get a video signal out of it. I only have dealt with personal desktops which I'm comfortable with.

I seek just how to install Windows 10 on this device and I should be able to figure the rest out. I see the back IO panel has two PCI slot bays for cpu1/2 and the center of the IO panel is labeled "iDrac" The VGA port located in "iDrac" does not show video, nor does the VGA at the front IO panel near the power button. .

Let me know what I can do to help anyone make sense of this and what I may need to read to help myself.

Thank you!

It was the cable... just returned from Walmart with a standard VGA cable and its giving me a display now. Go figure this spring I cleaned many old wires from my bins including all my vgas. heh. Thanks for the information however!

The remote video aka "console" through iDRAC needs an iDRAC Enterprise license. I should expect a warning when this feature isnt available. To get the console working check if it is configure for "HTML5" rather than "native". If you try to open the console you have to allow the popup and than you should see something.

About the front VGA ports. It might be disabled for security reasons as same as USB Ports can can be disabled. So check the BIOS or try the backend VGA. We use OLD LCD screens with have VGA,DVI and DP ports to connect them when needed.

Joerg
