Dell & Avocent

We have a Dell 2161DS-2 KVM switch at our corporate Headquarters.

 

We have golf courses all over the country that run 2-3 servers, and we are soon starting to install KVM over IP switches there too.

Since Dell doesn't have any 4-port, 1-IP KVM switches, I did find that Avocent (the maker of the Dell KVM switch) DOES make one, and Dell sells the Avocent DSR1022.

 

The Dell KVM Switch software allows for installation of:

Avocent > A1000R and A2000R

DELL > 2161DS, 2161DS-2 and 4161DS

 

So I am guessing the DSR1022 will not be available through the DELL software.

However,

Are the SIPs interchangable?

Can I use the Dell SIPs for these new Avocent KVMs?

Or does Dell sell the SIPs for the DSR1022?
