Dell M620 Having Boot Issues
I have a Dell M620 that is having some issues.
BIOS is 2.1.6
IDrac 7 - 1.51.51
LCF - 1.3.0.850
cpld version : 104
When it reboots it first shows this output:
error: memory initialization warning detected.
membist memory test failure dimm a5
after a bit it moves on, and shows the normal:
strike the f1 key to continue, f2 to run the system setup program.
There has been no changes to our system. Investigating into the drac, i see it recognizing DIMM A5 as present and without issues.
It was reported to me that it said it could not find a boot device, but I have not seen this issue myself, and it seems to boot fine after i hit f1 to move on.
Please advise.
Thanks,
Denny

Denny,
Power down the blade; pull from the chassis. Open it up and locate DIMM 5. Swap it with another DIMM, then power up and see if the MEMBIST error follows the DIMM or stays with the slot. If it follows, replace the DIMM, and if it stays with the slot, the motherboard will need to be replaced.
Regards,
