Dell R230 processors
I recently bought a Dell PE R320 with an i3 processor for a test lab that I have built.
I am looking to update the CPU, given that its got an i3 processor in there would any of the i5 or i7 processors work just as well in this server?

It looks like you typo'd the server model. I'm not sure which you have since you state R230 in the title and R320 in the post. Information about specifications and supported CPU generations may be listed in the documentation on the server support page. Also, if you have an R230, it may still be available for purchase on http://www.dell.com/. If it is available for sale you can go into the customization options and view the available CPUs.
