In order to retain maximum charge capacity the controller battery goes through a learn cycle every 90 days. During this cycle charging stops and the battery is allowed to discharge until empty. Once the battery has fully discharged it will trickle charge to 100%. Write caching will be disabled at certain charge thresholds, so there will be performance degradation during this process.
