Dell UPS 5600W shutdown server order
Hi,
INFO:
-1x DELL UPS 5600W (1x Network Management Card)
-1xR300 (WIN2008SP2 SBS)
-1xNX300 (WIN2008 Storage)
both servers connected to Segment1 in UPS, and connected through SNMP
I already successfully set UPS to shutdown using SNMP my own laptop for testing.
Now my requirement was.
I want to shutdown R300 first then NX300 when battery capacity reach 30%. Shutdown process of R300 take 10min.
What do I need to set in R300 NX300 GUI and UPS browser
thanks

Hi There,
Check out the document on this link which covers the s/w setup in different scenarios:
http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/ACC/UPSD/en/UPS_QN.pdf
You can find more information and other useful documents on www.dellups.com and searching software & documents.

Never ever buy this product.
REASON:
1. None in Dell Malaysia can answer my requirement of shutdown server in order
2. NMC card damaged 2 times.
I already check in office NMC card working from Ethernet and Console
-the first one console port no respond, replaced by DELL
-the second time, NMC failed after changing Public SNMP string
I never encounter this problem with APC
Very bad product
Never ever buy this product anymore
STEPS TAKEN
Plugin to Customer UPS, Console and Ethernet still working
-Enable SNMP in UPS GUI (not UPS Agent in Server)
GUI ask to reset Communication port
-Change UPS secret from Public to Company
GUI ask to reset Communication port
-Login to UPS agent in Server
Click Act as Administrator with “NO PASSWORD”, I thought supposed to be admin/admin
Try to add UPS using SNMP ip. Result can’t find
-UPS browser no respond
Can’t ping UPS ip
Using cross cable direct to Ethernet, still can’t ping
Using console cable to UPS console port
Still didn’t respond.
