Dell UPS Upgrade Software not working
I am trying to upgrade the firmware of a Dell 2700W rack mounted UPS which has been equipped with a remote management card. I have downloaded the Dell UPS Upgrade Software and installed it on Windows XP. From this system I can connect to the UPS remote management web interface and when I use the same IP address with user/password I get: Unable to community with UPS.
Does anyone have an idea how to get further?

Btw, it would be much easier when the UPS would just have its own service tag with which we can use to get support and find updates

J Willemsen,
Are you able to ping the IP address? Also have you reseated the connections on the UPS?

Under the UPS INFORMATION field in the column "ÜPS Ready for Upgrade", is it displaying a no or yes? Also, what update version are you trying to load?

I am not getting to that point, the client will not connect to the UPS, it gives the error in my first post. I am using the NMC option of the client

Could it be that the firmware is too old, it is a H910P, revision A00, firmware 01.02.0013

I tested the below on the Dell UPS 1000 tower, could be the same for you....
Suggest you try:
- connect to NMC via web gui and ENABLE SNMP via Access Control Menu, save (default is off)
- Once this setting is saved you need to reset the NMC, this can be done via web gui under Settings, System, reset (something like that)
- once NMC successfully restarted, (verify via web gui access) ....try connecting using the UPS software upgrade, enter SNMP details.....
Alternatively you can upgrade UPS firmware by connecting to the NMC via web gui, last option "firmware upload'
