Does using >4 memory slots on PowerEdge 1900 require a second CPU?
Hi guys,
I'm needing to upgrade the memory in our PowerEdge 1900 from 8 to 12GB, however this will require me to go from 4 to 6 slots.
Could anyone confirm if a second CPU is required to use the other four slots or if a single CPU will suffice?

GMScribe,
On the 1900 the second processor is NOT required for fully populating the dimms. It was the following generation of servers that had moved the memory controller to the processor.
