Fatal error on Dell PowerEdge R730

Dell PowerEdge R730 is occasionally shut down showing the below error in IDRAC Log. Running VMware 6.5 with only 1 VM up. After hard reboot, the issue was gone and then happen again after a few hours or next day. No proper solution isn't found online. Does anyone help me?

Hello, based on the information here are some steps you could try:

  1. Identify the Device: Login to iDRAC and check the Hardware Inventory. If you expand various PCI devices on hardware, you will be able to find the bus, device, and function number and identify which device has bus 128 device 3 function 2.

  2. Update Firmware: Once you identify the device, try updating the firmware on it to see whether that can resolve the issue.

  3. Power Cycle: You can also try powering off the server, remove the power cable, and insert the power cable and power on the server after 20 to 30 seconds.

  4. Remove PCIe Cards: If you are not able to get the exact device with bus number 128, remove all PCIe cards from the server and try to boot and see whether the issue occurs. If not, you can add cards one by one and check the behavior.
