Firmware Driver for controller PERC 5/i integrated

Question

We are running 3 servers, two of them have the firmware update and are running fine. One of our servers is stating that it needs the firmware update. I have compared the firmware file to the other two servers and they are the same. The server in question is running Firmware version 5.1.1-0040 and needs 5.2.2-0072 Driver version is 4.05.01.64 Storport driver version is 6.1.7601.17577 I have rebooted the server and it still states that it needs an update. We are running server 2008 R2 64 bit system and cant find the correct firmware update. Also, since all the other drivers are up to date, do I need to update those first before I update the firmware? I am not exact on how to go about updating this server to get rid of the error. The error does NOT come up on boot up, only when I look in the Dell Openmanger server administrator. Can anyone help? Hi Mike,

2008 R2 the default Windows driver is the correct driver to use. With everything else being up to date you can just update the firmware. The firmware update can be found here. ftp.us.dell.com/.../RAID_FRMW_WIN_R189337.EXE

Once I update this driver, I would need to reboot the server for this to take effect? Is there anything else I would need to do? Thanks Mike

After updating the firmware yes you would need to reboot, that should be all you have to do.
