How to boot faster???

Hi,

I have a T620 with Windows 10 Pro installed and it takes around 02:45 seconds to boot. The OS is installed on two SSD's in RAID1. My laptop on the other hand, running one SSD, boots in 8 seconds!?

I do not think the SSD's on my T620 are the issue. I think it must have something to do with iDRAC, or something like that, why the damn thing is taking so long to boot. Some hardware must "slow" the boot up process down, I guess.

That said. I only use my T620 as a "regular" PC and do not need any fancy hardware. Is there a way to make this thing boot faster???

Thanks.

Hi,

When you say boot, do you mean the time duration from pressing the On button to going into Windows?

If you referring to that, 2:45 is fast. We cannot compare POST (Power On Self Test) on personal system with Enterprise system.

Server POST, includes many hardware test which we cannot skip.

You can disable Lifecycle Controller in BIOS, which disables iDRAC, but the server may not provide as much logs when failure analysis. Though, this may not improve any POST duration, as logs collections are during server is operating.

Yes... From when I press the ON button to when I see my Login screen. I did some more searching on google and saw people having to sit there and wait sometimes for 30 minutes, so I guess 02:45 is not too bad, ha ha. Anyhow. Thanks for the input!!!
