how to disable memory mis-match warning?

hi,
i have a PE-750 and i recently bought a single 1Gb DIMM upgrade to add to the existing 2x256 dimms. I have it running in single channel mode at the moment and i'm quite happy with the performance. I would prefer to have 1.5Gb single channel than 1Gb dual channel. the problem is that the BIOS halts every time and kindly informs me that i have a DIMM mis-match. fair enough if it just did this once, but it does it every time and i don't have physical access to the server, which means i can't reboot without organising someone to plug in a keyboard and press F1 to make the message go away.

the dell bios (A06) does not appear to have the ability to ignore errors/warnings.

does anyone have any suggestions for how to solve this?
i will probably buy a matching 1Gb DIMM in 6 months or a year but don't want to upgrade yet.

thanks
tim

hi, thanks for the reply.
do you mean memory prices in general are cheaper than ever, or is there something special about this week or something??
in any case, you're right, a hundred euros isn't going to break the bank.
cheers

Dear Tim,

Now is the time to buy the matching DIMM with memory prices so affordable.

This will alleviate the problem that you are experiencing and allow you to rest at night!!
