Drive replacement procedures are dependent on the RAID controller. The manual for the controller should have instructions. Our PERC page has a link for manuals on the right side of the page:

RAID 5 is an n+1 RAID array. It can recover from a single disk failure, so once the drive is replaced and the rebuild of the new drive completes the array should go from degraded back to optimal.
