Hello eddavis2890,
A BIOS update will need a host reboot, an iDRAC update will only reboot the DRAC not the host.
The R630 are on firmware 2.50.50.50 with BIOS 2.7 step up with these version in conjunction BIOS and iDRAC:
First:
BIOS: 2.9.1
iDRAC: 2.70.70.70
Second:
BIOS: 2.16.0
iDRAC: 2.83.83.83

The R740 go as low as 5.00.00.00 with BIOS 2.11.2
On these you can update directly to current version
BIOS: 2.16.1
iDRAC: 6.10.00.00
