iDrac update paths

Question

I have a number of iDrac's that I'm needing to update.

I have R630 and R740 and R70xd but am unsure of the update paths.

The R630 are on firmware 2.50.50.50 with BIOS 2.7

The R740 go as low as 5.00.00.00 with BIOS 2.11.2

Does anyone have the update paths needed to get up to date? And will the updates need a reboot of the server or just the iDrac?

Hello eddavis2890,

A BIOS update will need a host reboot, an iDRAC update will only reboot the DRAC not the host.

The R630 are on firmware 2.50.50.50 with BIOS 2.7 step up with these version in conjunction BIOS and iDRAC:

First:

BIOS: 2.9.1

iDRAC: 2.70.70.70

Second:

BIOS: 2.16.0

iDRAC: 2.83.83.83

The R740 go as low as 5.00.00.00 with BIOS 2.11.2

On these you can update directly to current version

BIOS: 2.16.1

iDRAC: 6.10.00.00
