Ip address(es) 0.0.0.0

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to setup the R440 but can't figure out why if i ping the ip i've the "destination host unreachable" message.

I've already resetted it but the problem persist.

Last but not least, it seems that iDRAC doens't save my current ipv4 configuration settings since in the overview page what i see are all addresses set ot 0.0.0.0 (except for pref DNS and Alt one).

Thanks to everyone will help me

cheers,

@davidebriani , I assume you are trying to ping iDRAC IP. How are you configuring iDRAC IP? Is it DHCP or Static IP? One of the reason iDRAC showing 0.0.0.0 IP could be because of iDRAC NIC Selection. Can you check which port iDRAC is connected (Dedicated, LOM1, LOM2 etc.) and ensure network cable connected to that port.

You can get more details on iDRAC initial configuration from below link

Hello, I have a similar problem. I know that I'm connected to the Dedicated iDRAC port, and it works fine when I configure a static IP address. But if I set it to DHCP it fails to function. Note, there is no DHCP server, I'm connected directly to the port from a laptop and expect that the iDRAC interface should fail to find a DHCP offer and fallback to the static IP address of 192.168.0.120 as documented. When Wireshark-ing I can see the MAC of the iDRAC interface sending DHCP Discover packets, but the source is always 0.0.0.0, it never changes to 192.168.0.120.
iDRAC9 Enterprise, firmware 7.00.60.00

Is there a setting that must be enabled for it to fallback to the default 192.168.0.120 address???

Hello I may suggest that you try other versions of the idrac firmware as well.
