So I wouldn't expect that memory to work in your 420SC.
I have 2GB Kit(2x1GB) and one 256MB: 1GB: 240-PIN 128MBx72 DDR2 800 PC2-6400 UNBUFF CL6 ECC 256MB: DDR2 533 PC2-4200 UNBUFF CL4 ECC Should I add a single 256MB? Yes.Why? No.Why not? thanks in advance!

Here are 3 links with guaranteed (by the vendor) compatible memory:
