Memory limited to 256mb
Hi
Have installed 2 x 512mb ram in a Dell Poweredge 850 Series.
On reboot i get the following message "Amount of Memory Limited to 256mb"
The memory seems to be recognised in the BIOS.
Many Thanks in advance for any help on this matter.

There are a few OSes that won't install/work properly when during the install there is more than 512MB (or so) or memory. This is why the bios offers an install mode that disables the rest of the memory. After the install is finished you disable the install mode and the installed OS will then have full access to all memory.
