Yes, you will need to delete the array and set up the config from scratch. There is no way to downsize an array to a smaller RAID level or array. This must be done in the RAID controller configuration utility. You may be able to use LCC to configure a single RAID 1, then configure the data VD from OMSA in the OS (or in the config util).

I don't see the problem with running everything on a single RAID 10 ... if that is all the server will be doing, I doubt you'll see any performance increase by separating them. It's really unlikely you will bottleneck a 6-disk SSD RAID 10 with two VM's, assuming one is a client/mgmt VM for the database running on the second.

*Maybe* the number of users or type(s) of data could make a difference, but unless this will be supporting a massive amount of data (very active) or a very large number of users, it probably won't make any difference. Even then, you may be better off with the extra bandwidth of a 6-disk RAID 10.
