Prior to the OS install you will want to make sure that the server is up to date. What are the current revisions on the BIOS, Idrac, and Lifecycle Controller? The issue sounds like it is an out of date Lifecycle Controller. You can find the updates here;
If the versions you are at are several updates back then let me know before running these, as you will need to walk the updates up to current for safety.

Idrac 1.66.65
Lifecycle Controller 1.4.2
Idrac with Lifecycle Controller 2.41.40.40
