PE1300/700 CPU Upgrade
What speed CPU can my Dell PE1300/700 go up to?
Its a great machine but I would like to upgrade to 900mhz processors or more if it's possible??
I presume that being 100mhz bus this will ultimately limit things - I can't put 1ghz/256/133/1.75v processors on can I?

1GHZ cpus that are 133mhz fsb will only run at 750mhz. Not much of an upgrade. You can use those but they wont run at 1ghz. Max CPU is 1.1GHZ using powerleap adaptors.

Thank you for the advice - I've had a look at SpeedStep and it definately seems to be the way forwards rather than starting again with a new server.
Dual 1.1ghz is ample for our needs so this is a good cost effective option and easy to fit I think.
