PE2950 III add extra memory

Hi All,

We have PE2950 III, and  need to upgrade the memory to 8Gb , Right now the memory is

4GB (4x1024), DDR-2 533MHz ECC 2R Fully-Buffered Memory.

As in the market we hard to find DDR-2 533 Mhz, is that possible if we put the existing memory with 4GB (4x1024) DDR-2 667 Mhz ECC 1R Fully-Buffered Memory

Thanks in Advanced

The speed of the memory will automatically go down to the 533MHz, so 667 memory should work just fine.

Do keep in mind to buy memory from a company that guarantees compatibility with this server (e.g. Crucial.com, Kingston.com, Dell.com have memory configurators that will guide you to memory that they guarantee to be compatible with this specific system).

Thanks you for reply .

Since we hard  to get memory with 4x1024GB 667Mhz .

It is possible if we combined existing memory with 4x4Gb (http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=A2257233&mfgpid=193378&~ck=baynoteSearch&baynote_bnrank=0&baynote_irrank=0#Overview)

FYI : our server memory specs. is

4x1024Gb 533 Mhz ECC2 FullBuffer

Dell 2950 III

Thanks and Regards
