PE6850 BIOS A03: Virtualization support?

Question

I flashed several 4-way dual-core PE6850s to BIOS ver A03, and there is now a CPU setting for virtualization support that is not documented. In the 'Fixes and Enhancements' section for the A03 download, one of the items listed is '* Added support for Virtualization Technology in the processor.', but that's the only reference I can find.   Since these boxes are going to be used for virtual servers (with VMWare), does anybody know what enabling the virtualization option actually does?   Thanks-

Hi,   I have a PE6850 running a Xeon MP processor.  I'm trying to enable VT in the BIOS (A05), but there is no option in the BIOS to do that.  I thought my processor is supported.  Where in the BIOS is this?   In my system information it lists the following processor:   PROCESSOR..., 80546K, 3.66G, 1M, XEON CRANFORD..., B0   Can anyone help?  I'm trying to install a 64-bit guest OS in VMware on this.

Nuzzy,   The processor you have does not support VT, the only processors on the 6850 that support this is the Xeon 7000 (Paxville) and Xeon 7100 (Tulsa).
