perc 2/sc firmware upgrade error message

The firmware should be updated from DOS. Some older versions must be updated UP TO u77 and then to U84 firmware in that order.

If You have the original Perc installed in your PowerEdge 2300 (sometimes known as the Perc II).
 
Note: If you are still running U75 firmware, (and want to save any data) they must be installed in order:

3.13 / 1.43 are the latest revisions for the Perc 2/sc

I had the perc II not the 2/sc although that was what the packing slip said I had.
