Power Supply Error Message R720xd

I was getting an error about the power supply being inadequate - so I plugged in the second power supply.

I'm still getting the same error and still have to press F1 to complete a power-up or reboot - which is a hassle.

I read this - https://www.dell.com/support/manuals/en-us/poweredge-r720/720720xdom/power-indicator-codes

Both connection in the back glow green.

Is there a way to tell the OS to not interrupt a power-up or reboot due to a false inadequate power supply error?

Yes this helps. Can you configure Non Redundant and check the behavior.

Hi, what does your idrac says about the PSU status? Also what's the part# for those two PSUs?

I powered down and opened the top but could not see any model number info - without partially disassembling the server. Here is a photo of the back ...

Still need the part # from iDRAC. You might need some update on PSU firmware or update IDRAC.

Is the error came now and it was working before? If your server have high configuration this message can come as you have only 495W PSU. If you have access to iDRAC Can you check redundancy status. Refer below link for more details

I didn't observe a part number displayed in iDRAC. Can you send a screen shot, or a description, of where in iDRAC that appears, please? Thanks

I don't recall noticing it previously, but am only just setting it up here. I had four SAS drives and recently added two more, plus doubled the RAM. It seems odd that plugging in the second 495W PSU did not resolve the error.

Can you remove the additional hard drive and memory installed and check the behavior. For power supplies check the redundancy mode in iDRAC and if it enabled try to disable redundancy and check the behavior.

You can check it on either "Server -> Properties -> System Inventory" page or "Power Supplies" page
