Poweredge 1850 : Memory Errors

Hi

I am attempting to run the Memory diagnostics test on a Poweredge 1850. In order to proceed I need to clear the Event Log. How do I do this ?.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Managed to resolve this using BMCCFG.EXE --clearsel .

All is now OK.

How do I flag this as solved ?

http://linux.dell.com/files/openmanage-contributions/omsa-50-live/ This iso works for pretty much any dell server after 4th gen (PE2450) except the PE2600.

You can boot to it and clear logs, run simple diags, change service tags and learn more about the hardware you are usings (like finding out if you need a PERC3 update.

I'll try the BMCCFG.EXE though, it seems a lot faster if you can run it off of a floppy.

If you're in Use OMSA and clear the ESM Hardware log.  Click on System, then at the top of the window there will be a "tab" labeled Logs.  Click there, now below and to the far right will be a button that says "Clear Logs", Click there."  If you have a SBE Logging disabled you need to re-enable that too.  If you are in Windows you can change to the C:\Program Files\Dell\Sysmgt\OMSA\bin directory and then use the command dcicfg32 command=clearmemfailures from a command prompt.  There is a way to do it from the 32-bit diagnostics in the utility partition as well; but I don't remember that command off the top of my head.
