PowerEdge 300 cannot boot with changed processor.
The original P550 processor on the Dell Poweredge 300 has been removed and lost.
When stating up, after "press F2" etc I get a half-second long beep and the error message: Processor or Termination card not installed. System Halted!
I have tried with known good PIII chips, and a variety of memory. Always the same message.
Please can you help!?
Alan

The PowerEdge 300 has only been sold with 800 and 850Mhz PIII processors running at 100MHz FSB.
Any other flavors of the PIII will probably not work.
