Poweredge 6300 Power Consumption....

does anyone know how much one of these things cost to run 24/7, as i am a student living at home i dont want to rack the bill up loads...any ideas anyone?

I don't know the exact figure, it depends, based on configuraiton.

My question is why a 6300?  Do you need 4 processors?  What application are you running?  Based on today's performance improvements, you could probably get much better performance per watt with a different system.

no....i problably dont need four processors but it was cheap....im only running basic applications, apache, php, mysql, activedirectory etc

i didnt know of a cheaper option.

How much do you pay per Kilowatt Hour?

Aka 1000 watts for 1 Hour?

7.8 cents/kWh = 24 hrs = $1.872 per day = $683.28 per year.
I dont know what your "rate" is.
