PowerEdge R620 error on boot when 3d printer is connected via usb
Server won't start when a Prusa Mini 3d printer is connected via usb. With the printer disconnected the system starts normally and if you plug it in after full linux system boot everything works fine. I tried plugging it in to every usb port, but the problem persists. The printer serial communication has a baudrate of 115200 same as the idrac. It's important for me that the printer is plugged in to the server and that the server boots normally after electricity dies and this makes it impossible. Can i turn off the usb port just for the time of the boot?

I was already using BIOS. I tried changing it to UEFI after your post for testing purposes but there's the same error.

What happens if you switch from UEFI to BIOS and see if you can boot? Most likely your linux os will not boot any more(same is true for windows... but not for ESXi for example) but this would me a different problem than

Hello,
As for your question "Can I turn off the usb port just for the time of the boot?"-> I'm afraid it does not have that function. Sorry I can't be of help this time.

Do you have any other ideas on how to fix it? I heard that disabling USB boot might help, do you know how to do that? I can't see the option in BIOS settings.

Hello Kolotowiec,
Have you tried rotating all the printers from the current USB slot they are in to another USB slot?
Does that change the error any?
Has three printers connected ever worked and now it does not?
If so; What was done on the server around the time it quit working?
The ports are USB 2.0-compliant. Are the printers?
System BIOS Settings > Integrated Devices:
*Try disable Internal USB port
*User Accessible USB Ports have option: All ports on, Only backports on, All ports off
Are you current on system firmware: iDRAC and BIOS?
