PowerEdge R840 Max Memory Capacity Question

Question

Hi, I was researching the max RAM capacities for each type of memory that is accepted by the R840. According to the R840's technical guide, for LRDIMMs, it says that you can reach a max RAM capacity of 6TB however, the technical guide also states that 256GB LRDIMMs are accepted. If that is the case, that means the max possible RAM capacity for LRDIMMs would be 12TB. Is this correct, or are you only limited to installing 24 256GB LRDIMMs. Thank you in advance.

You can refer below link. As per this you can have up to 12TB of maximum memory if you have quad processor. 256GB LRDIMM is not supported on all PowerEdge R840 configuration. You can find the details on bottom of same link.
