PowerEdge T20 CPU options
Hi all,
I have the above machine with the Pentium G3220. I am interested in upgrading the CPU, but as far as I'm aware, the only supported options are the CPU I have and the Xeon E3-1225 V3. I've looked around for the Xeon but I don't think it is made any more, limiting my options.
My question is, does anyone know anywhere in the UK that is selling this CPU new? If this is no longer available, will a newer version of this CPU (e.g. E3-1231 v3) work with the T20? If not, do I have any other upgrade options?

MicroNort,
The T20 does support the Xeon 1225 as you stated, which is part number N3W6R. It also supports upgrading to the G3260 as well, which is part number HKMFY. Now it does appear that those are no longer on dell.com, but may be available through Spare Parts at 800-357-3355. You can also find through third party sources as well.
I am not seeing the E3-1231 as supported at all.
Let me know if this helps clarify your questions.

Thanks Chris. The G3260 doesn't seem much of an upgrade over what I have now so I don't see that as a viable option. After I'd posted this topic today I did a search on the forum and found a topic from 2014 where someone from Dell stated that all of the Xeon 12xx family (with same socket and below a certain wattage) were supported. Is this not the case so I am limited to one hard to find Xeon? Is there an e-mail address for spare parts?
Thanks!
