Was there any hardware changes before this issue? Are you having dual CPU configuration? Do you have iDRAC access? Where do you obtain the info that the CPU is at .15GHz? What CPU are you using? What memory have you installed?
No hardware changes as the issue has been going on for months.
1 CPU
Xeon E5-2420 v2 2.2Ghz
I see the speed in task manager. With everything set to performance the speed is 2.49Ghz and everything works correctly. The server is almost unusable when its stuck in the slower speed so its pretty noticeable :).
I have iDRAC access
Memory is 2 * 16GB DDR3 Synchronous Registered (Buffered) in A1 and A2.
When the performance slows down, could you access to the iDRAC and check if the CPU has any errors. Also, when the speed of the CPU is lowered, could you check in iDRAC what is the current speed of the processor.
Could you take a picture of the memory that you had installed on the server, also was all of the hardware in the server Dell original components?
Do update me about the info in iDRAC for processor when the issue happens. Could you PM me your server's service tag.
Meanwhile, when you have to reboot the server, could you swap the memory, A1 to A2, A2 to A1. Then check the processor if there is any bent pins or damages. Do you have any other processor to test the issue with?
