Psu compatibility for dell poweredge r730

Question

Hello everyone,

I try to upgraded my dell poweredge r730 PSU as i want it to run with GPU. I found to of the previous generation (dell poweredge 620).

Are the psu it compatible?

All of those other than the following are only showing 14th gen

57TFT

PJMDN

W8R3C

Y9VFC

and 5RHVV ( I didn't catch this one previously)

Those listed support both generations, everything else I pulled up showed 14th gen only.

Hello,   No, I do not see that specific PSU model listed as compatible with the R730, unfortunately. I would not expect it to work.

Sukhdeepombligo,   There isn't a customer facing list that I can find, but if you give me the specs of the power supply you require, I can find the part number for it.    Let me know.

Hi Thank you for quick reply. We had some user reported about some 750W PSU P/Ns from 13th gen servers not working in 14th gen servers . Even though these are same.

So if i can get P/Ns of 14th gen PSU which are not backward compatible with 13th gen and complete list of 14th and 13th Gen PSUs that would be Awesome. Thx

I only see four 750w power supplies that match part numbers between 13th and 14th generation, they are    57TFT PJMDN W8R3C Y9VFC   Let me know if this helps.
