R300 Server E1118 CPU Temp Interface error
Hi All,
I have One Dell server R300 model and few months ago we had a problem with the CPU (E1410 CPU Error) and since the server is still under warranty we send it to Dell Cyprus for repair. Couple of weeks later i call about the server and they told me that they change the CPU and the motherboard but now the server is giving other error (E1118 CPU Temp Interface Error.) As a result the Fans of the servers are spinning in High speed and make a lot of Noise. They told me that they check everything on the server, they update the BIOS firmware to the latest version (1.5.2.1) but they still have problem and they couldnt undestand why. I ask them to send me the server because i need it to work and if they have any feedback regarding the problem to send them again the server for repair. Unfortunately since today we haven't receive any feedback and we need to repair the server because we can't use it with all that noise.
Is anyone who can help us to solve the problem?

Hi, did you buy this direct from Dell or from a distribution partner? I would advise you to call the customer care line from where the system was purchased and explain the situation. If the BIOS and firmware are all up to date and you are still getting these errors then the only option is for a repair, you should be either entitled to an onsite repair or a collection depending on your warranty.

Hello Steve, thank you for your reply.
As i explain on my first post the serve is under warranty and we send it for repair to Dell Cyprus (ASBIS) the first time because we had a problem with the CPU (E1410). They told me that after replacing the CPU and the Motherboard with new ones the server start the problem with CPU Temp interface. They could'nt find why the server is giving this error so they give me back the Server about one and a half month ago and they told me that they will contact me when they will have an answer regarding how we can solve the problem.
I decide to post in the forum maybe someone else had the same problem and he could suggest a solution.
I don't believe a new motherboard and a new CPU are again faulty but sometimes you dont know.
Is there any diagnostic we can run and isolate the problem if its on CPU or Motherboard?
What do you think?

You could run the Dell diagnostics that can be found on a supplied DVD or downloaded from the support site. Temperature problems can be hard to pinpoint but if everything is up to date and you have had the motherboard and CPU replaced, I would then look at fans / heatsink and also the environment that the server is kept in.
