R320 Initializing Dirac Failed /LCC disabled / IPMI Failure

I attempted to update an R320 using the firmware using the Dell Smart Bootable ISO back in March. https://www.dell.com/support/article/us/en/04/sln296511/updating-dell-poweredge-servers-via-bootable-media-iso?lang=en After the upgrade, I receive iDrac Initialization error at boot and the fans run at 100 percent the entire time the server is on. At boot, it also show that the lifecycle controller is disabled.I also am unable to connect to iDrac via the web interface I have tried using the most recent Smart Bootable ISO from October to correct the error, but when the BIOS update runs, I receive an ipmi error. I have also tried updating the bios and life cycle controller from windows but see the same issue where the updater cannot connect to impi as the device. In the device manager, the device shows an error 10 and will not start. I checked to make sure that the correct impi driver is loaded and not the hp driver, that others have had issues with. I have also drained the power multiple times and removed everything from the system board. I have seen one other person be able to fix this using the Dell Repository Manager to force bios updates but my version of DRM only shows the iso plugin 902.1 and it says that 902.2 is required to enable force update but I am unable to find the 902.2 iso plugin to add to the DRM. Any suggestions would be helpful before replacing the system board.

I have the same exact issue on an iDRAC6 for a Dell R710 Server..

I'll see if I can post something if I get some resolution.
The weird thing with me is that I had two identical R710 servers side by side and when the issue happened I tried swapping the iDRAC6 controller (the chip below the raid and the network interface) and now both servers can't Initialize Remote Access Controller.

  • I've tried googling extensively about this issue.

  • Followed this iDRAC troubleshooting guide:

<ADMIN NOTE: Broken link has been removed from this post by Dell>

  • Bled the power, held the button for 20 seconds, pulled out the CMOS battery for about a minute, tried swapping iDRAC6 chips, (both, then one at a time (network interface and then black chip below raid and viceversa).

  • Attempted calling Dell about options but I obviously can't afford $1000 (thousand) dollars an hour and not even guaranteeing resolution.

  • Now I'm booting without the IDRAC6 controllers and just wait for the annoying timeout.
