r320 memory upgrade

Hi,

i'm planned to upgrade memory in my r320 server.

Now I have a 4x8GB RDIMM RAM Modules.

I want to add 2x16GB RDIMM modules to two free slots.

Modules with p/n 370-20147 are compatible?

Hi to all who can help me kindly,

I have got a DELL PowerEdge R320 server (service tag [removed for privacy]Bios ver 2.9.0) equipped with 2x8GB RAM bank "hmt451u7bfr8a-pb t0 ad 1550"

In order to expand the RAM I bought 2x16GB "MT36KSF2G72PZ-1G6E1HE" declared as suitable for DELL PowerEDge R320.

Now I instaleld in A1-A2 4GB UDIMM mosules and in A4-A5 8GB (RDIMM?) module. I receive always a system error.-

I test both couple of DIMMs individually and they work properly. I can't able to do work both couple of banks togather. Could someone help me?

Kind regards and thanks in advance.

Hello Iwim-srl,

You would not be able to mix those particular DIMMs in the system.

Owner manual : https://dell.to/3gSx5wG

Memory information starts on page 38.

On page 40 note: UDIMMs and RDIMMs must not be mixed

If you get a couple more 16G RDIMMs and abide the population rules from the manual you should be ok.

Please note: I removed the service tag to protect your personal information.
