R430 - iDRAC 8 Error
We have a R430 that reports error on the iDRAC
When powered on it hangs on "Initializing iDRAC" and don't get any IP.
The fans are running at full speed and the console it reports;
SWC07000: iDRAC is not ready. The configuration values cannot be accessed.
UEFI0315: Unable to process an iDRAC request to configure Secure Boot keys....
UEFI0029: Unable to initialize iDRAC because of some critical issues
LifeCycle Manager is disabled. Also if I try to make changes in BIOS, it errors out when trying to save.
I have tested to swap the iDRAC card with one from a working R530 server. Same issue.
I have also upgraded the BIOS to the latest version.
Also tested stripping the whole server for mem/controller/disks etc...
And reset BIOS / remove BIOS battery.
Any ideas?
MB replacement next?

Fnilsen80,
Before looking at replacing hardware lets confirm some things first.
Start with powering down the server, remove the power cords, and then hold the power button for 20 seconds in order to drain the flea power. Open the cover and then locate the NVRam jumper and move the jumper over as seen on page 170 here. Then power on the server to finish clearing the NVram, upon completion power back down and restore the jumper. After that then power up and see if anything has changed.
Also, would you confirm what occurred with the server prior to the issues appearing, such as firmware changes, power issues, anything else? The reason I am asking is there is a KB discussing the error when the firmware is downgraded, as seen here.
Let me know what you see.

Hi.
Thanks for your answer.
I have tested your suggestion, but it is still the same.
The server has been unused on the shelf for some time, so I don't know the history for it.
Have tested all solutions I have found on forums etc...Looks like a faulty MB.
An additional info that I noticed; there are no light on the iDRAC RJ45 plug, and the display in the front is "offline"

Hi,
thanks for your update.
You are correct it seems that the MB is defective.
