R610 Freezing / Memory Issues
I have an R610 that's been randomly locking up periodically. I've run Memtest86 for 24+ hours at a time with no issues.
Today, however, it locked up again, and I got the following error loged in the iDRAC6: "Multi-bit memory errors detected on a memory device at location DIMM_A2."
The only problem? There is no memory module in the A2 slot.
All firmwares are up to date, and I've tried fresh OS installs of multiple operating systems to no avail. It is definitely a hardware issue. Any thoughts?
Thanks
Nick

What slots do you have memory and what size? Are you running it as optimized or as Advanced ECC?
Do you have RDIMM's or UDIMM's?
Thanks,

I'll power it down this evening and swap things around, unless it locks before then.
Thanks

6x4gb RDIMMs in A1, B1, A3, B3, A5, B5 - pretty sure this was how it originally shipped.
Thanks

Should be set up as optimizer mode, using slots A1, A2, A3, B1, B2, B3
Go to the F2 bios, and check the memory mode after confirming the DIMM locations.
Let us know,
