Justaplaneguy0,

I think where you're running into issue is that there are 3 channels across each processor, which must match.

So based on what you have, and an assumption you have dual processors, I would install six of the 16gb dimms in the dimm slots with white tabs (A1-3 and B1-3) then install the 8gb dimms in the black tabbed slots.

To me that is the most logical as you don't have enough of some, too many of others.

Let me know if this helps.

Hmm - Well I tried this configuration, 16GB in A1 - A3 & B-1 - B3 and 8GB modules in A4 - A6 and B4 - B6 but I get a failure on B3 / B6 Channel 3. (Currently registering a total of 120MB instead of 144).

Hello justaplaneguy0,

I would recommend review the  Installation Guidelines System Memory Page 116 : https://dell.to/3V7oMPC

Optimizer Mode should be good for you

Processors must be identically populated,

Put largest capacity DIMM in first slots; A1, A2 -B1, B2. Then fill lower capacity DIMMs after that

The Hynix DIMMs should be good. I can cross reference those with a Dell part number.

I have no information about the Black Diamond DIMMs. Check the manual to see that they meet specifications.
