R610 server fire
Morning all unfortunately the back plane of my r610 caught fire and started sparking last night! (Don’t worry everyone is safe fire alarm alerted us very quickly) the only damage sustained was the back plane has anyone had this issue before or know what could have caused it the fire seems to have originated from small capacitors next to one of the hard drive connectors on the back of the back plane if anyone could shed some light on this I’d appreciate it the idrac log also gave these 2 faults
The CPU2 VCORE PG voltage is outside of the allowable range. and

Hi,
Here's what I suggest, do not repeat to turn on the server back. I'll initiate a PM with you about the server details.

Hi,
Thank goodness no one is hurt from the server fire. Unfortunately, me as the social support might be able to answer where is the source and cause of the fire. The iDRAC log messages are to alert that there is voltage issue and will shutdown the server.

Hi Joey C thanks for the response! I think the fire may have been caused by a few exploding capacitors on the sas back plane when we was investigating where the burning was coming from when we powered the server back up the whole burnt area began sparking and burning immediately the only thing we could think has caused it is maybe some of the bad small capacitors we noticed that each sata section seems to have one I’ve attached the photos and have circled in red the area where the fire seems to have started and have circled in green the same components on the bored in the other group I believe these may be responsible for power handling for the drives but what baffles me is the set that has caught fire didn’t actually have any drives on that section
